ONCE UPON A MATTRESS
(The Revival)

...the much-adored Tony nominated musical comedy adaptation of the Princess and the Pea.


Participants spend summer training and rehearsing for a full-scale Broadway Musical in a 599-seat theatre (and a mirrored studio with sprung dance floors)! Production includes professional sets and costumes (that cast members help to construct), professional lighting and sound - and a live professional orchestra!

Additionally, participants receive daily instruction from experienced artists and educators in all aspects of theatre: dance, voice (with live piano accompaniment), acting, improvisation, character development, story, music and lyric analysis, set design, scenic painting, lighting and sound (just to name a few...!)

Why CCLO?

At CCLO, we believe in the value of “process.” Our unique 8-week program provides students with time and opportunity to make discoveries about themselves and gain insight and awareness into their own learning. Summer Theatre Conservatory includes guest speakers, barbecues, theme days and our annual field trip to Disneyland! Our experienced Staff includes; Director/Musical Director, Choreographer/Dance Instructor, Acting Coaches, Professional Technical Designers/Instructors and assistants in all fields. CCLO is designed for students at every skill level! Everyone is accepted into the program!

JUST KIDDING Ensemble

Summer Theatre Playground

Just Kidding is an unique theatre program designed by CCLO just for kids ages 5 – 7!

FUN WITH FAIRYTALES!

(Plus, a unique opportunity to perform with the Mainstage cast!)

By participating in a variety of creative drama and musical theatre explorations, children will have an opportunity to build and develop performance skills as well as enjoy personal and artistic growth and development!


Participants will have an opportunity to train and rehearse in a professional 599-seat theatre as well as a mirrored studio with sprung dance floors!

Environment is engaging, energetic, nurturing and fun! Daily activities include singing/vocals (with live piano accompaniment); dance/movement; acting/character development; imaginative improvisation; set, prop and costume crafting; theatrical vocabulary; performance techniques; and theatre etiquette. Workshop will culminate in a Showcase presentation in the Norman J. Pattiz Concert Hall on the last day of class; Friday, July 17th.

Workshop Theme: FUN WITH FAIRYTALES! (designed specifically to coincide with CCLO’s Mainstage production, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS (The Revival )– a humorous musical rendition of the Princess and the Pea.

Monday, July 6 – Friday, July 17th (one 2-week session)
Monday thru Friday, 9:30am – 2:30pm

*One-week option
If you are unable to attend for both weeks, you do have the option to attend either week one or week two. Activities will relate to one another, yet they will be varied and diverse. All musical numbers learned will be reviewed daily. (Please note: there will only be one Showcase on July 17th.) Cost for one week is $395.

If you attend week one, you do not have to participate in the Showcase. However, if you would like to participate in the Showcase, you will need to attend for the full day and after-Workshop run-through on Friday, July 17th.

Orientation – Day one of workshop (July 6th)
Selecting a program of this nature is collaboration between parent, child and instructor. Therefore, we ask that a family representative stay for a brief half-hour Orientation on the first day of our FUN WITH FAIRYTALES session. This Orientation will 1) help your child transition into the program 2) provide you with an opportunity to meet our experienced staff 3) allow us to familiarize you with all aspects of our program.
